Outfood - Genoa, proud for its food and heritage

Genoa, the capital of Liguria, is the protagonist of a project aimed at strengthening its role as one of the hubs of Mediterranean food culture.

Outfood - Superba per Cibi e Cultura (Outfood - Genoa, proud for its food and heritage)

The project is the output of the collaboration between the Municipality of Genoa and Genova World, the association of professionals created by Umberto Curti (food and wine historian) and Luisa Puppo (Ambassador of Genoa in the World) - no homonym, it is me! 

A video collection (in Italian and English) dedicated to Genoa's heritage, both cultural and culinary, which will be released monthly. 

So far, the video releases include:

1) La Cuciniera di Giobatta Ratto - since 1861 a culinary bestseller, the first recipe book dedicated to Liguria's culinary heritage is one of the features of the collection of the Civic Berio Library in Genoa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TisXxVTcByw

2)La Cuoca di Bernardo Strozzi - the masterpiece by 17th-century painter Bernardo Strozzi is a snapshot of a noble household's kitchen - as well as one of the gems treasured in the Palazzo Bianco Museum in Genoa  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1HT3Qa4uPI

3) Paganini Rooms - the Master's gourmet side (he was the author of a ravioli recipe preserved in the Library of Congress in Washington) narrated in the spaces (Palazzo Tursi, seat of Genoa's Municipality) which host his precious violin, known as the "Cannone" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCYSEGqcyV0

4) Ceramics (and mortars) Rooms (Palazzo Tursi) - the City Hall is a treasure trove of art and culture. Its stunning ancient collection of ancient mortars provides plenty of opportunities to delve into the history of a Mediterranean icon, a must-have of Ligurian kitchens playing the lead role in the preparation of traditional Genoese basil pesto https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrzYsUKFU4I
